Institute of Industrial And System Engineers Re-Elects Quinnipiac University Professor For President

A. Corey Kiassat joined Quinnipiac in 2013 and has since been promoted many different times in the Engineering realm.

From Quinnipiac University: A. Corey Kiassat, of Hamden, assistant professor of industrial engineering at the Quinnipiac University School of Engineering, has been re-elected president of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers, professional chapter 75, serving Connecticut and western Massachusetts.

During his first year as acting president, Kiassat increased overall membership, added three student chapters at colleges across the northeast, increased the number of events and event attendance, and offered three scholarships for students enrolled in undergrad and graduate degree industrial engineering programs in the region.

Following these successes, Kiassat plans on keeping this momentum through his next term by increasing student involvement and placing more emphasis on developing young professionals.

The Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers serves engineering professionals through networking and professional events, including tours of local facilities, social events and professional speakers.

Kiassat, who joined Quinnipiac as an assistant professor of engineering in 2013, became the program director of industrial engineering in 2015 and the interim associate dean of the School of Engineering in 2016. He has a doctorate in applied science and engineering from the University of Toronto, a MBA from York University and a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Toronto.
