Want to learn something new as you continue to make your way through the COVID-19 pandemic? Discover the Institute for Learning in Retirement (ILR), one of this area's best kept secrets! Established in 1989, ILR is a non-profit community-based volunteer organization, serving retired/semi-retired adults. Dedicated to lifelong learning, it offers members reasonably priced tours and classes without concern for credits, grades, or prerequisites. Courses range from science and history to literature and technology. Most are offered weekdays during daytime hours and vary in price from $5 to $20. Annual membership is $40.
The 2022 spring semester curriculum includes some 50 courses and virtual trips and covers a wide range of subjects - everything from improving your lawn to exploring America’s race relations. Currently, most classes are available primarily online; however, some in-person sessions will be offered.
