New Restaurant Opens In Hamden

Officials celebrated the restaurant's opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday.

HAMDEN, CT — Officials celebrated the opening of a new Spanish restaurant in Hamden on Thursday.

The Hamden Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday at La Isla Restaurant at 2779 Dixwell Avenue. La Isla features authentic Puerto Rican cuisine.

“Everyone had the pleasure of not only celebrating Soryorelis and her staff’s special day, we were introduced to their wonderful culture and Bomba…music that brings a community together,” reads a post on the chamber’s Facebook page.

La Isla is open from 12 noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

“La Isla is a Puerto Rican restaurant bringing authentic cuisine from our family to your table,” reads a post on the restaurant’s website. “We provide dine-in, takeout, catering, Grubhub, Uber eats, & Doordash delivery to Hamden and surrounding towns. From delicious Tostones Rellenos and Bacalao Guisado to our exclusive plant based Picadera, we've been told that we certainly know how to look after our guests.”
