Large Fight Broken Up At Trampoline Park In Hamden: Police

The dispute involved dozens of teens outside and police reported seeing 150 people inside with no social distancing and "very few" masks.

HAMDEN, CT — A trampoline park in Hamden is being investigated for coronavirus violations after police broke up a large fight involving dozens of teenagers in front of the building and found that many people inside weren’t following COVID-19 protocols, according to officials.

Police responded to Funz Trampoline Park, 1245 Dixwell Ave., around 9 p.m. on Saturday on the report of a “fight in progress,” according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said officers encountered 40 to 60 teenagers involved in a dispute in front of the building. Many of the teens were engaged in a physical fight, according to Smith.

New Haven police assisted Hamden officers with ending the disturbance, Smith said.

Officers reported there were around 150 additional customers inside the trampoline park, according to Smith.

Smith said there did not appear to be social distancing taking place and “very few patrons were wearing masks.”

The Quinnipiack Valley Health District is being notified of the violations, according to Smith.
