3 In Custody After Major Crash In Hamden: UPDATE

A pursuit that started in New Haven as police were investigating gunfire ended in a crash in Hamden.

HAMDEN, CT — Three people were taken into custody by New Haven Police after a pursuit ended in a major crash in Hamden on Thursday afternoon, according to the New Haven Register.

The Register reports New Haven Police were pursuing a vehicle while investigating gunfire just after 12 noon on Catherine Way near Brookside Avenue. Dixwell Avenue was closed near Benham Street in Hamden while police were investigating the crash.

New Haven Police detained the driver, who was hospitalized for medical evaluation, along with two occupants in the suspect vehicle, seized a shotgun from the vehicle and impounded the vehicle, according to the Register.
