Man, 23, Shot in Hip in Hamden: Police
The man was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police are investigating.

Hamden, CT — A 23-year-old Hamden man was shot in the hip and hospitalized with non-life threating injuries late Friday night, according to police.
Police responded to the area of Fairview Avenue and Arch Street on the report of shots fired at about 11:30 p.m. on July 8, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Moments later, officers located a 23-year-old gunshot victim who was seated on the stairs of an Arch Street residence, Smith said.

The victim, a Hamden resident, was shot in the hip and was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment. His injuries are not considered life threatening.
Smith said a preliminary investigation revealed a group of black males were involved in a verbal dispute with another group of males, who were seated inside of a motor vehicle.

A witness told police that after the shooting stopped, the group of males who were on foot, ran southbound on Fairview Avenue.
