Missing Hamden Man, 71, Found Safe: Police
A Silver Alert had been issued for the man earlier this week.
HAMDEN, CT — A missing Hamden man has been found safe and is reunited with his family, police said in an update Friday afternoon.
A Silver Alert was issued for Felix Velasquez, 71, on Tuesday. He was found safe in New Haven on Friday with the help of a passerby, according to Det. Sean Dolan.
“Mr. Velasquez has been reunited with family members,” Dolan wrote in a news release. “The Hamden Police Department would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance in this investigation.”

(Original post): HAMDEN, CT — A Silver Alert has been issued for Felix Velasquez, 71, who was reported missing from Hamden on Tuesday, Aug. 24.
Velasquez is described by police as a Hispanic man with brown eyes, balding hair with a mustache and goatee. He is 5-feet, 1-inch tall and weighs 140 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with Navy sleeves and black denim shorts with black thermo-style pants underneath.
Velasquez reportedly suffers from dementia and was last seen in the area of Hobson Avenue, according to police.
He is known to visit an acquaintance in the Meriden area, police said.
