Man, 72, Robbed While Walking In Hamden: Police

The man was pushed from behind and robbed early Saturday morning in Hamden, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A 72-year-old man was robbed while walking in Hamden early Saturday morning, according to police.

Police responded to Mix Avenue around 7:30 a.m. on the report of a strong-arm street robbery, according to Detective Sean Dolan.

Dolan said an investigation found that the victim was pushed down from behind while he was walking on Mix Avenue near Benham Street. The suspect took the victim’s personal belongings, according to Dolan.

The victim suffered minor injuries during the robbery, Dolan said.

The suspect was described as a thin black man in his 20s and about 6-feet tall. He reportedly left in a blue SUV/wagon, according to Dolan.
