Man Arrested On Gun Charges After Traffic Stop: Hamden Police
Police said the man, who doesn't have a pistol permit, was found with guns and ammunition in the vehicle.
HAMDEN, CT — A Prospect man was arrested on gun charges after a traffic stop early Saturday morning in Hamden, according to police.
Police responded to the area of Norton Avenue and Palmer Avenue just after midnight on the report of a “suspicious” vehicle, according to Sgt. Angela Vey.
Vey said police found the vehicle and the driver was identified as 27-year-old Javon Rose of Prospect.

“Through the course of the investigation, two handguns were recovered inside the vehicle, along with various ammunition,” Vey wrote in a news release.
Rose doesn’t have a pistol permit, Vey said.

Rose was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of ammunition, carrying a pistol without a permit and weapons in a motor vehicle.
Rose was released after posting a $25,000 bond with a court date of Nov. 28, according to state judicial records.
