Man Arrested On Gun, Drug Charges: Hamden Police
The man was arrested in connection with a drug investigation, according to police.
HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden man was recently arrested on drug and gun charges, according to police.
Members of the Hamden Police Department Crime Deterrent Unit and Intelligence Unit worked with the New Haven Shooting Task Force on a narcotics investigation in the area of Goodrich Street and Shelton Avenue on April 19, according to Sgt. Angela Vey.
As a result of the investigation, Vey said Clayton Carney was arrested on an active failure to appear arrest warrant. Carney was also found to be in possession of cocaine and a 9mm handgun, according to Vey.

Carney, 46, was taken into custody and charged with failure to appear, criminal possession of a firearm, illegal alteration of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit and possession of narcotics with intent to sell.
Carney was held in lieu of a $20,000 bond and will appear in court later this month, according to Vey.
