Man Assaulted, Threatened To Kill Woman: Hamden Police
The man was found to have a loaded 9mm handgun in his vehicle after a domestic dispute in Hamden, according to police.
HAMDEN, CT — A New Haven man was arrested Monday after police said he assaulted and threatened to kill a woman during a domestic dispute in Hamden.
Police responded to Pine Rock Avenue around 6:30 p.m. on the report of the domestic dispute, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
An investigation found that Ronshemu Pittman assaulted and threatened to kill the woman, who was able to leave the area and call police, according to Smith.

Pittman was detained moments later after police found him driving his vehicle in a parking lot, Smith said. Police found a loaded 9mm handgun inside the vehicle, according to Smith.
Smith said the gun was equipped with a magazine that contained 15 rounds of ammunition.

Pittman, 26, of Greenwich Avenue in New Haven, was arrested on charges of criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, weapon in a motor vehicle, possession of a high capacity magazine, criminal possession of ammunition, disorderly conduct and second-degree threatening. He was held in lieu of a $150,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
