Man Carjacked At Gunpoint In Hamden: Police
The victim was walking to his vehicle when he was approached by a gunman early Tuesday morning, according to police.
HAMDEN, CT — A man was carjacked at gunpoint early Tuesday morning in Hamden, according to police.
Police responded to the 300 block of Goodrich Street around 3:20 a.m. on the report of an armed carjacking, according to Acting Hamden Police Chief Timothy F. Wydra.
The victim told police that he was walking toward his vehicle, which was parked on Goodrich Street, when he was approached by an unknown suspect, according to Wydra.

Wydra said the suspect, who was armed with a gun, ordered the victim to hand over his possessions, including the keys to his vehicle.
The victim complied with the suspect’s demands, and he last saw the suspect fleeing the scene in his vehicle, turning onto Butler Street into New Haven, according to Wydra.

Hamden police officers searched the area and found the victim’s vehicle abandoned in New Haven a short time later, Wydra said.
The suspect was described as a black man, approximately 5 feet, 7 inches tall with a stocky build, who was wearing an orange ski mask, white T-shirt, and dark-colored shorts, according to Wydra.
