Man Charged In Shooting In Social Lounge Parking Lot: Hamden Police
A man was injured in the shooting earlier this year in Hamden, according to police.
HAMDEN, CT — A New Haven man has been charged in connection with a shooting in the parking lot of the Dixwell Social Lounge earlier this year, according to police.
The shooting happened around 1 a.m. on Feb. 17 in the parking of the Dixwell Social Lounge at 940 Dixwell Avenue. Officers found a stolen handgun and ballistic evidence at the crime scene, according to Detective Sean J. Dolan.
Dolan said a 34-year-old Hamden man suffered a gunshot wound to his foot from the shooting.

Detective Jomo Crawford, along with detectives from the Hamden Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit and New Haven Shooting Task Force, conducted an extensive investigation into the shooting, according to Dolan.
Montrell Brewer, 30, was arrested July 26 at Meriden Superior Court on a warrant related to the shooting. He was charged with criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault, criminal possession of a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment, illegal discharge of a firearm and carrying a pistol without a permit.

Brewer was held in lieu of a $250,000 bond.
