Man Crashes Car Into Hotel Lobby, Flees Scene: Hamden Police
Police arrested the man on foot after the vehicle he was driving crashed into the front lobby and struck the reception desk.

Hamden Police say a 39-year-old town man crashed into a hotel lobby and fled the scene early Sunday morning.
Police responded to the Clarion Hotel on Whitney Avenue around 3:30 a.m. on Dec. 6 after a vehicle driven by Corey Merritt, of Hamden, struck the building, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said the vehicle entered the front lobby and struck the reception desk.

Merritt fled from the scene and was arrested by Hamden Police while walking southbound on Whitney Avenue, according to Smith.
Merritt was charged with reckless driving, evading responsibility and operating under suspension. He is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Dec. 18.
