Man Found With Drugs, Gun In Hamden: Police

A search-and-seizure warrant was executed following a lengthy investigation, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden man was found to be in the possession of heroin, crack cocaine and a gun during a search of his home, according to police. The Hamden Police Department Street Interdiction Team, with the assistance of the Hamden Police Department Emergency Services Unit, executed a search-and-seizure warrant at the residence of Clemente Holmes in the 300 block of Goodrich Street on Jan. 22. The search-and-seizure warrant was the result of a lengthy investigation by the Street Interdiction Team, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said the search of the residence led to the discovery and seizure of 374 wax folds of heroin, 56 bags of crack cocaine and a firearm. Police immediately arrested Holmes and took him to police headquarters.

Holmes, 29, was charged with two counts of possession of narcotics, two counts of possession of narcotics with the intent to sell, criminal possession of a pistol and negligent storage of a firearm. He was detained on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Feb. 5.
