Man Injured In Shooting At Large Party In Hamden: Police

Police found more than 100 people were at the party Thursday night in Hamden.

HAMDEN, CT — A man was hospitalized after being shot in the leg at a party Thursday night in Hamden, according to police. Hamden police responded to Warner Street around 8 p.m. on the report of “shots fired” with a gunshot victim, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said responding officers found more than 100 people were at a party. Several people were carrying the victim to a vehicle. Hamden Fire Rescue provided medical assistance to the victim at the scene.

The unidentified victim was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg, according to Smith.

The party might have violated Gov. Ned Lamont's executive order that limits crowds to 25 people indoors and 100 outdoors for private gatherings to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
