Man Pointed Gun At Customers In Front Of Store: Hamden Police
A witness said the man was upset that two women didn't say thank you to him for holding the door open for them, according to police.
HAMDEN, CT — A New Haven man is accused of pointing a gun at customers in front of the Family Dollar Store in Hamden on Saturday afternoon, according to police.
Police responded to the store at 1245 Dixwell Avenue around 3:15 p.m. on July 16.
A witness told police that the man was upset that two women did not say thank you to him for holding the door open for them, according to Detective Sean J. Dolan.

Dolan said police quickly responded to the area, and Officers Joseph Venditto and Timothy Janus found the suspect nearby on Helen Street.
The suspect, later identified as Joshua Murray, was in possession of a gun, according to Dolan. He was taken into police custody and interfered with officers during his arrest, Dolan said.

Dolan said no one was injured during the initial complaint or during the arrest.
Murray, 25, was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, two counts of second-degree breach of peace and interfering with a police officer. He was held in lieu of a $25,000 bond with a court date of Aug. 2.
