Man Robbed at Gunpoint by Possible 400-Pound Suspect in Hamden: Police

The suspect fled after stealing several hundred dollars from the victim, according to police: BREAKING

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden Police are investigating an armed street robbery in which a man was robbed of several hundred dollars at gunpoint on Monday evening.

Police responded to the area of Circular Avenue and Gorham Avenue at about 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 19.

The victim told police that he stopped his motor vehicle on Gorham Avenue to talk to friends. He was then approached by an individual, described as a black male, mid-20s, 6-feet, 2-inches tall, weighing between 300 to 400 pounds and wearing black clothing, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

The suspect, who was in the possession of a handgun, demanded the victim’s belongings while threatening to shoot him, according to Smith.

The suspect subsequently fled from the area after stealing several hundred dollars from the victim, Smith said.
