Man Stabbed Victim During Fight: Hamden Police
The victim was stabbed twice in the thigh during the fight, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A Bridgeport man is accused of stabbing another man in the thigh twice during a fight Tuesday night in Hamden, according to police. Hamden police responded to a Pine Rock Road residence around 10:30 p.m. on March 17 on the report of a dispute that escalated into a physical confrontation with one person stabbed, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Police found that a 24-year-old Bridgeport resident was involved in a fight with Daniel Maldonado-Rivera and was stabbed twice in the thigh, Smith said. The victim was treated at the scene by Hamden Fire Rescue and taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital for medical treatment.
Smith said Lt. Timothy Wydra apprehended Maldonado-Rivera in a nearby parking lot. Maldonado-Rivera, who was in the possession of a knife, was taken to police headquarters, according to Smith.

Maldonado-Rivera, 21, of Success Avenue in Bridgeport, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault. He was released after posting a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Meriden Superior Court on April 9.
