Man Stole $35,000 Van from U-Haul: Hamden Police
Police are asking for the public's assistance with identifying the suspect, who rented the van with a crime victim's ID and didn't return it
HAMDEN, CT — Hamden Police are looking for a man who rented a $35,000 van from U-Haul and didn’t return it. Police also say the suspect rented the van with a crime victim’s identification.
Hamden Police responded to U-Haul, located at 1685 Dixwell Avenue, on Sept. 9 on the report of a stolen motor vehicle, according to Captain Ronald Smith.
Smith said investigation revealed that the suspect entered U-Haul on Aug. 21 and rented a $35,000 van, with a crime victim’s identification, and hasn’t returned it.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, about 5-feet, 9-inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, with a small tattoo on the left shoulder, wearing a white tank top, khaki shorts and a black flat-brimmed hat.
Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect (pictured above and in the surveillance video).
