Men Found With Drugs, Stolen Gun In Hamden: Police
Two men were arrested after crashing into brush while police were serving probation violation arrest warrants, according to officials.
HAMDEN, CT — Two New Haven men were arrested this week when they were found with drugs and a stolen gun, according to police.
Hamden police were assisting State of Connecticut Adult Probation Officers with serving Probation Violation arrest warrants around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, according to Detective Sean J. Dolan.
Dolan said that at one of the locations, in the 1500 block of Whitney Avenue, a vehicle sped forward in a driveway and collided into some brush.

A passenger in the vehicle, later identified as Javon Mooring, ran away but was quickly apprehended by officers, according to Dolan. He was found to be in possession of illegal narcotics and $846 in cash, Dolan said. Police also recovered a stolen, loaded 9mm firearm.
The driver, later identified as Gemini Napoleon, was also taken into custody. Inside the vehicle, police found a bag that contained illegal narcotics and $203 in cash, according to Dolan.

Mooring, 43, was charged with illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, possession of a stolen firearm, two counts of possession with intent to sell narcotics, possession with intent to sell hallucinogens and interfering with police. Mooring was held in lieu of a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on June 24.
