More Than 4,100 Without Power In Hamden
Around 15 percent of the town is without power, according to United Illuminating.

HAMDEN, CT — More than 4,100 United Illuminating customers are without power in Hamden as of 2:55 p.m. That is about 15 percent of the utility’s customer base in town.
"Please stay indoors if possible, lots of wind & there are roads closed, wires down and power outages," Mayor Curt Balzano Leng wrote in a post on Facebook.
Hamden's 911 central communications was "inundated with calls" around 3:20 p.m., according to Leng.

"They are maximum staffed working to handle all calls, but you may not get an answer immediately," Leng wrote. "Try again, if you need emergency services, please keep calling and they will answer. If it’s a non-emergency, please dial 203-230-4011."
Leng said if you see a "tree, large limb blocking road or wire down,please cal 203-230-4011 & notify UI. If emergency, 911!"
