Motorcyclist Hospitalized After Crash In Hamden: Police

The motorcyclist was seriously injured in the crash, which closed part of Dixwell Avenue for several hours on Friday, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A motorcyclist was hospitalized after being seriously injured in a crash Friday in Hamden, according to police.

Police responded to Dixwell Avenue near Cherry Ann Street around 5:15 p.m. on the report of a crash involving a car and a motorcycle, according to Detective Sean J. Dolan.

Dolan said the operator of the motorcycle, a 36-year-old man, suffered serious injuries in the collision. He was treated at the scene by Hamden Fire Rescue personnel and taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital.

The Hamden Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the accident scene and are leading the investigation, according to Dolan.

Dixwell Avenue was closed for several hours while police investigated.
