HAMDEN, CT — Mayor Lauren Garrett has turned to a familiar face for the town’s finance director position, appointing Curtis Eatman as acting finance director.

Eatman returns to the role he previously served under former Mayor Curt Balzano Leng. Eatman was originally hired as finance director in March 2020, but was appointed acting economic development director in January when Leng named former Mayor Scott D. Jackson finance director in a senior staff shakeup.

Eatman received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Communication & Rhetorical Studies from Syracuse University in 2009, and went on to receive a Master of Public Administration from Syracuse in 2011, according to a news release from the mayor’s office. He has more than 10 years of financial management experience working with state and municipal entities.
