Cohens’ son Brendan died a few years ago and Cohens helped take care of her granddaughter who she called BrandyBoo, according to her memorial page.
“Linda had a gigantic personality, with an even bigger heart, and she sure touched all of our hearts in some way. So now as her brothers and sisters of the New Haven Firefighters Union want to (like they say) “Take It From Here” and want to be sure Linda’s BrandyBoo has a little extra in life,” wrote New Haven Fire Department Lt. Gary Cole, organizer the scholarship fund for her granddaughter.
