Hamden police have arrested a New Haven woman on home invasion and prostitution charges in connection to an October incident in which a town man was assaulted and robbed by two men while he was in his bedroom with the woman he met through an internet dating site.
Nazhia Carter, 19, of 65 Plymouth Street in New Haven, was arrested on a warrant Nov. 13 and charged with home invasion, third-degree larceny and prostitution.

Police said the 30 year-old victim, who resides in an apartment at the Mix Avenue location, advised officers that he had earlier met a female on an internet dating site and that they had scheduled to meet at his residence.
Investigation revealed that while the victim was in his bedroom with the female, who was later identified as Carter and her female friend, two males entered the room.

Police said a physical altercation ensued, which resulted in the victim being assaulted with a tire iron. The two males, as well as the two females that he had invited into his residence, subsequently fled. One of the males jumped off of the balcony, falling approximately 25 to 30 feet.
Further investigation revealed that one of the females unlocked the front door and allowed the two males to enter, according to police.
Police said several items were stolen from the apartment, including electronic equipment. The victim, who sustained injuries to his back, finger and nose, was treated at the scene by Hamden Fire Rescue.
Detective Joseph Liguori was assigned the investigation and his findings led to the application of an arrest warrant for Carter, who turned herself in to police custody last Thursday.
Carter, who was detained on a $200,000 bond, was arraigned later in the day.
Police said that the investigation is continuing.
