New Superintendent Takes the Reins of Hamden School System
Jody Goeler, who moves from Woodbury Region 14, sets goals for the district.

Among the goals of new Hamden Superintendent of Schools Jody Goeler is focusing on tasks such as maintaining a racial balance in elementary schools, the upkeep of school facilities and the state’s feasibility report, according to the New Haven Register.
Another issue facing Goeler, who came to Hamden after working as the Superintendent of Schools for Woodbury Region 14, is the challenges the district faces to fund special education.
The Register reports that Goeler attended the Municipal Opportunities Regional Efficiencies (MORE) meeting to talk about the challenges and said he’s pleased with the work the district has done so far, but added there’s always room to improve.
