Obituary: Anthony Iazzetta, 81, Of Hamden

HAMDEN, CT — (From Sisk Brothers Funeral Home): Anthony Iazzetta, 81, of Hamden, beloved husband of Linda (Prodoti) Iazzetta, passed away on October 30, 2023, peacefully at his home.

Loving father of Concetta (Michael) Misiti of Rocky Hill, and Christine (Joseph) Amarone of Wallingford. Grandfather of Francesca Amarone, Michelle Misiti, Christiana and Joseph (Jr.) Amarone. Anthony was born in Afragola, Italy, son of the late Vincenzo and Concetta (Orzo) Iazzetta and brother to 7 siblings (predeceased).

Anthony was a passionate family man, always thinking of and doing something for all of his family here, in Italy and for his niece who was a nun in the Philippines. He was always entertaining family and friends at his home. He loved to cook recipes that his mother and sisters used to make in Italy as well as create his own “concoctions” that he proudly shared with anyone.

Anthony loved arts and crafts, particularly knitting slippers for friends and family. He enjoyed planting flowers and herbs and had an extensive flower garden that he would tend to for hours. Anthony had a passion for wine and loved to share his different homemade flavored liqueurs.

Prayer service will take place at SISK BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME 3105 Whitney Avenue, Hamden SATURDAY morning (Nov. 4) at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Beaverdale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
