Obituary: Celia DiGioia Carboni, 96, Of Hamden
She lived her entire life in the town and was a daily communicant and active member of St. Ann's Church until its closing.

HAMDEN, CT — (From Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home): Celia DiGioia Carboni, 96, died on November 3, 2022 at Connecticut Hospice.
Mrs. Carboni was born in Hamden on January 29, 1926 to the late Michele and Anna Casiello DiGioia, and was the widow of Dominick Carboni.
She lived her entire life in the town and was a daily communicant and active member of St. Ann’s Church until its closing. She was a 1943 graduate of Hamden High School where she studied on the business track and held a variety of positions in her long career at the Hamden Sears Roebuck.

Mrs. Carboni was admired in the family for her prowess in the kitchen. Her Christmas Eve Feast of the Seven Fishes was second to none, and family and friends alike anticipated her wonderful Christmas cookies all year long. She was especially devoted to her nieces, grand nieces, and great grand nieces and nephews whom she leaves to carry on her legacy.
Additionally, she leaves two loving sisters-in-law, Pauline and Ruth DiGioia. She was predeceased by her three younger siblings Dominick DiGioia, Nicholas DiGioia, and Marie Scalese.

Calling hours will be held MONDAY from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Peter H. Torello & Son F.H., 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
