Obituary: Christopher James McNeil, 63, Of Hamden

A U.S. Army veteran, he was a career paralegal and in his later years worked for Yale University and SSC Services as a Security Officer.

HAMDEN, CT — (From Colonial Funeral Home): Christopher James McNeil, of Hamden, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023. Christopher was born on January, 24, 1960, to the late Dorothy “Doll” (Brown) and Leon McNeil in New Haven, CT, and had a residence in Hamden for most of his years.

Christopher attended the Hamden school system and graduated from Hamden High School in 1979. He was a career paralegal and in his later years worked for Yale University and SSC Services as a Security Officer. Christopher was a proud U.S. Army Veteran, Scholar, enjoyed writing newspaper columns, and he was a current undergraduate student at SCSU.

He is survived by daughters, Kwanita McNeil of Hamden, CT, Crystal and Chelsea McNeil of New Haven, CT., and three loving grandchildren. Brother of Elaine McNeil, Patricia Hicks, Debra Mann (John), and the late Leonard McNeil. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The funeral services will be held at St. Matthews U.F.W.B Church, 400 Dixwell Ave. New Haven on Friday, March 3, 2023 at 11 a.m. Viewing in Church from 10-11am. Burial with full military honors will follow at Beaverdale Memorial Park.
