Obituary: Edward ‘Teddy’ DeCrosta, 58, Of Hamden

HAMDEN, CT — (From North Haven Funeral Home): Edward “Teddy” DeCrosta, 58, of Hamden, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Yale-New Haven Hospital with his family by his side.

Born in New Haven on December 22, 1964, he was the son of the late George M. DeCrosta and Carol A. Jobe Suprono.

Teddy earned a bachelor’s degree in culinary arts from Johnson and Wales University, Rhode Island, and had worked as a Certified Executive Chef his entire life. He also enjoyed gardening, working out and staying fit, riding his Harley, and going to his beach house in Lakeville, Massachusetts.

He is survived by his children Nicole DeCrosta Vetiac (Denzel), Emma DeCrosta, and Nicholas Lozowski; brothers Michael and David DeCrosta; sister Cynthia DeCrosta Hoernle (Frederic); granddaughter Aurora, and many cherished family and friends.

The visiting hours will be Saturday, September 9 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Catholic parlor service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
