Obituary: Eleanor B. Smith, 95, Of Hamden

HAMDEN, CT — (From Sisk Brothers Funeral Home): At her home peacefully with her daughter by her side, January 26, 2023, Eleanor B. Smith, 95, of Hamden.

Wife of the late Charles P. Smith, Jr. Loving mother of Dr. Beth A. Smith of Hamden and Brian Smith of Auburndale, FL. Also survived by her 2 cherished grandchildren Albert and Brandon, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Stanley Bracke and Edward Bratkiewicz.

Eleanor was born in New Haven June 21, 1927 daughter of the late Michael and Antoinette Romanowicz Bratkiewicz. She retired from the former SNET after many years.

Mrs. Smith was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, taught CCD and was a member of the Altar Guild. In her younger years she was a member of the Hamden Junior Women's Club, did volunteer eye testing for the Hamden Elementary Schools.

Funeral from Sisk Brothers Funeral Home 3105 Whitney Ave. Hamden Saturday at 10:30 a.m., Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial in Centerville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9 - 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Masks will be required at both the funeral home and church.
