Obituary: Florence DellaRocco, 92, Of Hamden
A lifelong Hamden resident, she retired from the Hamden School System as a food service manager.

HAMDEN, CT — (Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home): Florence DellaRocco, 92, of Hamden, died peacefully January 11 surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Haven, daughter of the late Louis & Philomena Valentino DeLucia, she was the loving wife of the late Domenic DellaRocco for 53 years.
A lifelong Hamden resident, she retired from the Hamden School System as a food service manager. Florence was past president of the St. Rita's Rosary Society at St. Ann's Church and was an active member of the Celentano School for mentally challenged and Southbury schools of Greater New Haven, as well as Special Olympics of CT. She ran various dinners and dances for all her causes.
She is survived by her children; Rev. Domenic DellaRocco, Mary Lou (Rick) Dini, Salvatore DellaRocco, JoAnn (Mike) Mallozzi, Ann Marie Charbonneau, and Margaret (Tom) Griffin, four sisters; Lucille Marinuzzi, Anna Scali, Susan Elia, & Theresa Wiel, and a brother Salvatore DeLucia, 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers; Nicholas, Angelo "Charlie", and Louis DeLucia Jr., Sisters; Mary DeNuzzo, and Carmel Proscino.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial TUESDAY at 10:30 am in Blessed Sacrament Church and may call Tuesday morning from 8-10 a.m. in the Peter H. Torello & Son F.H. 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital (www.stjude.org).
