Obituary: Hanora ‘Annie’ Leary O’Neill Purcell, 94, Of Hamden
Ann, a proud member of the Irish American Community Center, was a loving and devoted wife, mother and loyal friend.

HAMDEN, CT — (From Sisk Brothers Funeral Home): Hanora “Annie" Leary O’Neill Purcell, 94, of Hamden, passed away peacefully into the hands of God on Aug. 10, 2022. She is survived by her beloved husband, Thomas J. Purcell, children Thomas O’Neill, William O’Neill, Sheila (Pascal) Panza, Kathleen “Katie” (Michael) Regan and stepchildren Noreen Dillman, Susan (Yair) Landau, Thomas (Beth) Purcell, Bridget (Tyrone) Prescot, Eileen (Brian) Patterson, Brian (Becky) Purcell and many grandchildren and great grand-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband William O’Neill of Tipperary, Ireland and siblings Mary McNally, Kay O'Connell, John Leary and Bridie O'Connell.
Annie was born in November 1927 in Portmagee of Co. Kerry, Ireland to the late Thomas and Nora Granfield Leary. She immigrated to Connecticut in 1950 and had lived Hamden for the past 60 years.
Ann was a faithful parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church and a proud member of the Irish American Community Center. She was a loving & devoted wife, mother and loyal friend.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Aug. 20,2022 at 11 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, Circular Ave., Hamden. Burial will be private. Friends may call at Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Saturday morning prior to the mass from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
