Obituary: Helen Y. Brown, 91, Of Hamden

HAMDEN, CT — (From Sisk Brothers Funeral Home): Helen Y. Brown, 91, of Hamden, passed away peacefully at the Hospital of St. Raphael just one day shy of her 92nd birthday. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank J. Brown for 59 years.

Survived by her loving daughters Patricia Sorrentino (Bob) and Dr. Kathleen Barone (Salvatore), four grandchildren, Dr. Jesse Sorrentino (Jordanna), Dr. Nicole Sorrentino (Mike), Steven Sorrentino (Laura) and Atty. Blake Barone (Lindsey), two great grandchildren, Aubri and Nicholas Barone and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother and two sisters.

Helen was born Nov. 27,1930 in West Haven a daughter of the late Carolina Sulick and was a graduate of West Haven High School. She formerly belonged to the Ladie's League of Blessed Sacrament Church and is a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church. Over the years she took great pleasure in attending her grandchildren's sporting events, rarely missing one. She was loved by everyone who knew her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning at 11:30 in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, Hamden. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Arrangements are with Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden.
