In New Haven, February 15, 2017 Janet L. Smith, 85, of Hamden. Wife of the late N. Alfred Ansaldo and Francis Keyes Smith. Loving mother of Noelle Smith of Brewster, NY and Alfred Ansaldo of Pink Hill, NC. Also survived by her cherished grandchildren Joseph and Daniel Ansaldo, Edward Smith, Jr. and Christopher Smith and 3 great grandchildren. Predeceased by a sister Vera Shanley.

Janet was born in New Haven July 18, 1931 daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Shanley Nadeau. Prior to her retirement she was a supervisor for the State of CT Child Support Enforcement Services, a student loan manager for the former New Haven Savings Bank, and an officer in CSEA Local Chapter 405.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Calling hours are Sunday from 3 - 7 p.m. in Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Burial in All Saints Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
