Obituary: Janice Chaplin-Nicolas, 82, Of Hamden

HAMDEN, CT — (From Hamden Memorial Funeral Home): Janice Chaplin-Nicolas, 82, of Hamden, passed away peacefully at Yale New Haven Hospital on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. She was the wife of Robert Nicolas. She was born July 29th 1941, and raised in Maine to her late mother Dorothy (Wood) Meader.

Janice soon moved to Connecticut, lived in Hamden, and had worked for Laidlaw Bus company in Hamden until her retirement.

Janice leaves behind 4 children Angela Bugin of Jacksonville, Florida, Tom Zacharias, Tim Zacharias and Kris Chaplin, all from Hamden. Also survived by 4 grandchildren Sunshine Evans of Woodbine, Georgia; John Booth of Covington, Louisiana; Cailtlyn Pavone of East Haven, Connecticut; Bianca Zacharias of North Haven, Connecticut; and 3 great grandchildren Dr. Thomas Evans of Cleveland, Ohio; Savannah Evans of Woodbine, Georgia; Edward Booth of Covington, Louisiana.
