Obituary: Jonathan C. May, 72, Of Hamden

HAMDEN, CT — (From Hamden Memorial Funeral Home): Jonathan C. May, 72, of Hamden, died after a long battle with cancer on September 25, 2023. He was born in Bridgeport CT in 1951, to Charles and Edna May.

Jonathan was a lover of the arts, avid reader and passionate music fan. Jonathan was a hairdresser for over 40 years, owning his own salon, Artisans in New Haven. Jonathan devoted over 40 years of his life to the NA/AA program.

Throughout those years he mentored and impacted the lives of many. “Love fully, love despite yourself, love through uncertainty and love because it’s the only way.”

Jonathan is survived by his wife Francine May, two children Austin and Hannah, his siblings; Brian May, Geoff May, Mary Gates, Gretchen Fendo; and his beloved French bulldogs Nino and Moses.
