Obituary: Joseph Chadwick Jr., 86, Of Hamden

HAMDEN, CT — (From Sisk Brothers Funeral Home): Joseph Chadwick Jr., 86, passed away June 12, 2023. Joseph was born in New Haven, CT on February 4, 1937 to the late Joseph J. Chadwick and Frances G. Scully.

Joseph was raised in Hamden, CT. He graduated from Hamden High School. He later attended and graduated from Providence College.

For many years Joe ran his own delivery business. However, his real passion was golf. He loved the game and spent many years as a Caddy at the New Haven Country Club where he was regarded as an Institution. There was a long article published about him in the New Haven Register. He truly cared about the players and they cared about him.

Joseph is predeceased by his older brother Peter J. Chadwick, who was an awarded Colonel of the Vietnam War and was his best friend. He is survived by his sister Patricia Chadwick Carey of Huntington, NY. He leaves many nieces and nephews who adored him because he was such a kind, loving and caring man.

Joe will be very missed by the people who knew him and loved him. We are all much poorer because of his loss. Joe is also survived by a son, a daughter and 2 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave. Hamden.
