Obituary: Joseph A. Riccitelli, 82, Of Hamden

He worked as a chef for over 40 years at places such as the Waldorf Astoria, the Waverly Inn, La Mirage, and the 95 Steak House.

HAMDEN, CT — (From Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home): Joseph A. Riccitelli, 82, of Hamden, died suddenly at home November 25. Born in New Haven September 21, 1941 he was the son of the late Anthony & Theresa Tiano Riccitelli.

He was a graduate from the Culinary Institute of America class of 1963 and worked as a chef for over 40 years at places such as the Waldorf Astoria, the Waverly Inn, La Mirage, and the 95 Steak House. He loved all types of animals especially dogs.

He is survived by nieces and nephew Jacqueline, Maria, & Mark Cermola. He was predeceased by a sister Patricia Riccitelli Cermola and her husband Edward Cermola.

Friends are invited to go directly to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church AT A DATE AND TIME TO BE DETERMINED for a Mass of Christian burial. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
