Obituary: Mary Moran, 80, Of Hamden

HAMDEN, CT — (From Sisk Brothers Funeral Home): Mary Moran, 80, of Hamden, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. Mary was born in New Haven on September 10, 1943, to Michael and Mary (Mae) Hayes Murphy.

A lifelong resident of Hamden, she, a big sister to Ann (Sultan) Ahamed and predeceased by her older brother, Dan, grew up on Winnett Street, before moving to Rolling Ridge Road in 1965.

Mary graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1961 and worked for many years at First Federal/First Constitution Bank, and later for Chartwells catering at Quinnipiac University until her retirement in 2006. She was the loving mother of Beth Rapone of Branford, Frank (Kelly) Moran of Hamden, Bobby (Tracy) Moran of Wallingford and Aileen Moran of Hamden, and Nana to six grandchildren - Christopher Moran, Nicholas Moran, Kaitlin Moran, Frank Moran, Brian Moran and Michael Moran.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Friends are asked to go directly to church. Burial in All Saints Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 - 7 p.m. in Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave. Hamden.
