Pasquale Frank “Sonny” “Pat” Perrelli, 95, passed away on April 15, 2026. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend, Pat lived a life defined by love, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his family.
Born in New Haven, Connecticut, on July 13, 1930, he was the son of the late Frank and Grace Guarino Perrelli. He graduated from Commercial High School in 1948, where he met the love of his life, Marlene D’Errico. Together, they shared 72 wonderful years of marriage and built a beautiful life, raising their three sons, Steven, Gary, and David.
Pat proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his service, he enjoyed a successful 32-year career as a District Manager with Metropolitan Life Insurance before retiring.

Family was always at the center of Pat’s life. He took great pride in his children and was deeply involved in their lives, coaching his sons in basketball and baseball for many years. His generous spirit extended beyond his family through his volunteer work with numerous charitable organizations. He collected for UNICEF, sang at local nursing homes, and brought joy to many as Santa Claus at Sacred Heart Academy.
Pat loved to travel, with his most cherished trip taking him to Sorrento, Caserta, Coste Morrone, and Atrani, Italy, where he traced his family heritage. For 25 years, winters in Hillsboro Beach, Florida, at The Sea Club were a treasured tradition for Pat and Marlene. There, they welcomed family and friends, creating countless happy memories.

He was always present for his family—whether babysitting grandchildren, hosting holiday gatherings, or offering a listening ear and thoughtful advice. His warmth, kindness, and genuine love for others left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Pat was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marlene. He is survived by his loving family: his sons, Steven (Debra), Gary (Ivy), and David (Allison); daughter-in-law Jennie; His brother Frank “Junior” Perrelli (predeceased), Donald Perrelli, grandchildren Justin (Abby), Stephanie (Meg), Alexa (Jon), Kristen (Chris), Jacqueline (Andrew), Lauren, and Julia; and great-grandchildren Sonny, Carmen, Chase, Crew, and Ferris.
Pat’s legacy is one of love, devotion, and generosity. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
His funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven WEDNESDAY morning at 11:15. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Paul VI Parish at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Hamden at 12:00 p.m. Entombment with military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call WEDNESDAY MORNING from 9:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the West Haven VA Medical Center at www.va.gov.
