Obituary: Patricia G. Bodie McWeeney, 85, Of Hamden
As a lifelong educator, she began her career teaching at Norton School in Cheshire. She was later an elementary school teacher in Hamden.

HAMDEN, CT — (From Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home): Patricia G. Bodie McWeeney, 85, of Hamden, passed away November 20, 2022. Patricia was the beloved wife for 50 years of the late Dr. Palmer F. McWeeney. Born in New Haven on May 8, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Gladys and Joseph Bodie.
Throughout her life Patricia loved to travel, go to parties, and spend time with her family and friends. She was a devoted grandmother to her four grandchildren, Rachel Johnson, Jessica McWeeney, Deanna McWeeney, and Brian Johnson. Patricia is survived by her two children, Alison McWeeney and her husband Paul Johnson, and Scott McWeeney and his wife Colleen. Patricia also leaves her sister, Maureen Bousquet, two nieces, Lisa DesGeorges and Susan Murphy, and two nephews, Michael Shubert and David Chieffo.
Patricia received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Southern CT State University. As a lifelong educator, she began her career teaching at Norton School in Cheshire. She then spent time in New Haven teaching nursery school for several years when her children were young.

After that she was employed as an elementary school teacher for the Hamden Board of Education from which she retired. After retirement, she became a certified travel agent and earned her TESOL certification and was employed by the New Haven Board of Education, teaching adult language learners, a job she truly loved.
Friends may attend her Prayer Service at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 12:30 p.m. Entombment in All Saints Mausoleum, will be private. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Smile Train at www.donate.smiletrain.org.
