Obituary: Paul Christopher Parese, 44, Of Hamden

Known for his quick-witted sense of humor, Paul had a generous spirit and was always there to offer kind words, support, and a helping hand.

HAMDEN, CT — (From North Haven Funeral Home): Paul Christopher Parese, 44, of Hamden, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023. He was born in New Haven on September 26, 1978, and was the son of John Parese (Maggie Jensen) and Joyce Ellen (Kate Sullivan).

Paul graduated from North Branford High School, class of 1996 and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut in 2001. Earlier in his career, he worked as a loan originator for Total Mortgage.

Paul was an avid New York Yankees fan. He was known for his quick-witted sense of humor. Paul had a generous spirit and was always there to offer kind words, support, and a helping hand.

Paul was the proud father of Makayla Parese whom he loved with all his heart. His greatest joy was spending time and coaching her soccer, basketball, and baseball teams.

Loving brother of Marla Dakin (Kevin), Laura Parese, John Michael Parese (Lyn Balsamo), and Matthew Parese. Also survived by his former wife Donna Cusano Parese, nieces and nephews, Michael and Ava Dakin, Salvatore, Emilio, and Molly Parese.

The visiting hours will be Wednesday, April 26, 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 27 at 12 noon in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a random act of kindness be done in Paul’s memory.
