Obituary: Paula Savoie Roll, 71, Of Hamden

HAMDEN, CT — (From Sisk Brothers Funeral Home): Paula Savoie Roll, 71, of Hamden, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 26, 2024 in her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Beloved wife to John H. Roll of 42 years. Loving mother to Meredith Roll of Burlington and Katherine (Jason) Pomposelli of Davenport, Florida. Devoted “Mommom” to Cecilia, Cadence and Vivienne. Paula was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on April 30, 1952 to the late Dr. and Mrs. Upton A. Savoie.

Paula graduated from Lincoln School in Providence, Rhode Island in 1970 and attended Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts in 1974. Paula pursued a graduate degree in Communications from Boston University in 1978 when she met the love of her life, John.

Paula had a dynamic and successful 40-year career in Marketing, Broadcasting, and Advertising, retiring from Aetna in 2022. Paula enjoyed singing and writing music, traveling, and spending time with her family during her retirement.

Paula also leaves behind siblings Carolyn (William) O’Neil, Jacquelyn (Jeremy) Medina, Upton A. (Caroline) Savoie, Jr., Janet (Donald Winters) Savoie, as well as many family members and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Rita Church. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 4 - 7 p.m. in Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave. Hamden.
