Obituary: Rev. Daniel Sullivan, 86
Father Sullivan served in North Haven, Cheshire and Hamden, including Our Lady of Mt. Carmel where he served for more than 27 years.

HAMDEN, CT — (From Sisk Brothers Funeral Home): Reverend Daniel Sullivan, 86, of Northford, died August 17, 2023. He was the brother of John J. Sullivan (Kathleen) of North Branford. Also survived by his nieces and nephews Kevin, Timothy, Ann Marie, Karen and John. Predeceased by a sister Ann M. Sullivan, and a niece Catherine Bush.
Father Dan was born in New Haven January 23, 1937 son of the late John M. and Anna Kelly Sullivan. He graduated from St. Francis Grammar School in New Haven. Father was a Chaplain in the Connecticut National Guard from 1969-1997 retired with rank of Colonel.
Father Sullivan prepared for the priesthood at St. Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield and Christ the King Seminary/3St. Bonaventure, NY. He was ordained a priest at the Cathedral of St. Joseph by the late Archbishop of Hartford, the Most Henry J. O'Brien, on May 23, 1963.

Father Sullivan served in parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Hartford, including communities in Sharon, Suffield, North Haven, Cheshire and Hamden where he served as Team Minister, Moderator and then Pastor of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Hamden for more than 27 years.
A wake will be held on Wednesday, August 23 from 4 - 7 p.m.in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church/ St. Paul VI Parish, 2819 Whitney Ave. Hamden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 24 at 11 a.m. Most Rev. Juan Miguel Betancourt, SEMV, Auxiliary Bishop of Hartford will be the main celebrant. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery in North Haven.
