Obituary: Yekaterina ‘Katy’ Chernova, 59, Of Hamden
An avid painter, Katy worked at Yale in the Sterling Memorial Library as an assistant librarian.

HAMDEN, CT — (From Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home): Yekaterina "Katy" Chernova, 59, of Hamden, died June 4th at Yale New Haven Hospital's St. Raphael Campus after a long illness.
Born in Kharkiv, Ukraine, she was the loving daughter of Galyna and the late Anatol Mishchenko.
Katy worked at Yale in the Sterling Memorial Library as an assistant librarian. She was an avid painter, enjoyed reading, and had an overall love for art. She was well versed in 19th & 20th century Russian and European Literature.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter Yelizaveta Chernova of Norwalk.
