Police say a man who was found "slumped over the wheel" in a vehicle was revived by officers.
HAMDEN, CT — Police officers helped revive a man who was found “slumped over the wheel” in a car in the 2300 block of Dixwell Avenue with a dose of Narcan Friday night in Hamden, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said arriving officers Gabriel Garcia and Officer Darryl Cargill quickly realized it was a medical emergency and forced entry into the vehicle and rendered medical assistance.
“Officer Cargill successfully administered his department issued Narcan,” Smith wrote in a news release. “Hamden Fire Recue arrived and continued to provide medical attention. The 50-year-old, who was alert and responsive, was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for medical treatment.”
