Pair Caught Stealing Packages from Hamden Home: Police
Police say that packages of Legos were stolen from one home and the man attempted a theft from another before a neighbor "yelled" at him.
HAMDEN, CT — Two Hamden residents are accused of stealing delivered packages from a London Drive home and attempted to steal more around town, according to police.
At about 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 21, Hamden Police Officer Brett Ferrara responded to the report of suspicious activity in the area of London Drive. A concerned citizen had observed an individual take a delivered package from a London Drive residence, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Shortly thereafter, Ferrara located the individual, Jack Humphrey, who was a passenger inside of a motor vehicle operated by Lisa Zielinski.

Smith said officers seized three boxes of Legos from inside of the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the Legos were stolen from the London Drive residence.
Officers further learned that Humphrey had also walked onto a Daniel Road front porch, which had several packages recently delivered.

Smith said a neighbor “yelled” at him, at which time Humphrey fled from the area in Zielinski’s vehicle.
Officer Andrew Lipford investigated the Daniel Road incident.
Humphrey, 43, of Merritt Street in Hamden, was arrested on charges of sixth-degree larceny, two counts of conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny and two counts of simple trespass. Humphrey, who was detained on a $1,000 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Jan. 4.
Zielinski, 43, of Franklin Road in Hamden, was charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. Zielinski was detained on a $1,000 bond and is also scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 4.
