Pass On Politics During Thanksgiving: Poll

A recent Quinnipiac University poll found that the majority of voters don't want to talk politics over turkey Thursday.

HAMDEN, CT — One dish people can do without this Thanksgiving is politics, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll. Voters said 63 to 26 percent that politics should be left off the dinner table.

Voters between the ages of 18 to 34-years-old said 72-22 percent to skip the politics. Men wanted to avoid politics 58-30 percent and women 67-22 percent.

"Fed up with the daily dose of political heartburn and starving for a little holiday harmony, American voters say feed me turkey not politics," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll. "The holiday season begins with a conflict-weary public.

Voters disprove 52-42 percent NFL players kneeling during the National Anthem, but said 61-31 percent that players have a right to protest. 44 percent of voters plan to watch football on Thanksgiving.
